Sweet Valley Suris alpaca farm in Annville PA is home to 45 suri alpacas.  The suri is the rare breed of alpaca and from their shearing each year we harvest exquisite fiber in all of their 20+ natural colors.  This fiber was used to make many of the items in Sweet Valley Shoppes.

Alpaca fiber was considered the “fiber of the gods” by Incan Royalty for its luxurious feel.  Other qualities of alpaca fiber are listed below:

• It is strong, soft and warm
• It is hypoallergenic and has no lanolin or other oils
• Known to be more resilient and wrinkle resistant than cashmere
• Alpaca fiber has a lower tendency to shrink than either wool or cashmere
